This is the second to last part of the sharp and flat major guitar scales series. So now, let’s go and discover the G#/Ab major guitar scale.

You begin by playing the root note on the 4th fret of the E6 string and progress to completing the first set on the 1st fret of the G3 string. However, you can go further and play the second set which ends on the 4th fret of the E1 string.

Now, let’s look at another interesting pattern to play. This one encourages you to make use of your pinkie finger. You start on the 11th fret of the A5 string. Then after playing 14 sounds you end on the 16th fret of the E1 string.
