Basic guitar scales series continues. Today it’s time for the G major guitar scale.
The standard pattern has been presented on the image below. This particular one lets you hit G sounds three times, which is nice for practicing.

As usual the standard pattern is not my favorite. I like to play something else. The reason for this is because the pattern I’m about to present can be moved up and down the neck more easily, and that makes it a great exercise. Here it is:
