It’s time to show you another basic guitar scale – the D major scale.
On the image below you can see a standard pattern for the D major guitar scale. The scale starts with a D sound and ends with a D sound as well.

This standard pattern is not the one I prefer to play while practicing though. The following pattern is a bit more interesting because you hit D sounds three times, each one an octave higher, which makes it a really nice exercise.
